A portrait of the ant-Fascist german lino cutter Carl Meffert, alias Clément Moreau, a pupil of Käthe Kollwitz, who worked as an illustrator for left-wing newspapers in Berin in the Thirties befor having to flee from the Nazi to Switzerland, where he stayed illegally, working for union papers, befor emigrating to Argentina where he remained for 30 years. After being evicted by the military seizure of the power in 1962, Moreau returned to Zurich where his important graphic art was rediscovered a few years ago. Today Moreau teaches drawing at the St. Gall School of Arts and Crafts.

The film shows him with his class, explaining the linocut process in the school's printing press, in the Genossenschaftsdruckerei in Zurich, where he used to prepare his exhibitions, etc. Clément Moreau ist a prototyp of the anti-Fascist German artist and intellectual, and his work is of particular topical interest today.
