The film is a retrospective of the life of the writer Manès Sperber who received the German Literary Peace Prize for his main work, “Like a Tear in the Ocean” in 1983. The two filmmakers travel through Europe, from Zablotow, in the Ukraine, to Vienna, Berlin, Zurich and Paris searching for traces left by the writer. The images in the film are accompanied by autobiographical texts of Sperber’s and they lend a poeticliterary dimension to the film.
